[warning: death, violence in a relationship] death angels: kurumi

When she wears the blind for the first time, she cries.

Not sure if she’s crying because it’s over now, because she doesn’t have to be afraid any more, because her keeper will guide her to the ones she needs to take. Because it doesn’t have to be her responsibility any more. Or because it’s over now, because she can’t pretend any more that it’s not her job, that she won’t need this blind for ever and ever, except when they’re alone.

But no, she has to focus on the good things. She has her keeper, and she knows she will never leave her, and they will get to be alone and, she doesn’t need the blind then and, things will be safe. There will still be safe times. There will be violent times, yes, but it’s always been that way, and her keeper won’t give up on her just for that. They know each other too well, they both know she can’t help the rages, that it’s just part of who she is as a death angel.

And, a small part of her knows she won’t give up on her, because she needs her too much. Yes, she needs her keeper, but her keeper needs her too. She’s so used to the pain that it’s buried its self inside her and changed her for ever, and she knows that she can’t let that go, without tearing out a part of her self.

And, a smaller part of her is happy about that.

[Note: Not a story about my usual pair of death angels, but, I saw this picture and I had to. I like this character, she's a flawed person who is like many of us, sometimes she's selfish and likes the control she has over someone and happy about it but, she also wants to be a good person. I think it's more common than people think. I'm a little happy about that complex feeling here.

Also, I just realise their names are Tsurumi and Kurumi, hehe. I didn't realise they rhyme. Well, Tsurumi isn't Tsurumi's real name anyway, and, they're very different in kanji (鶴見 and 来留美, what I was thinking of particularly is that the "mi" in Kurumi isn't the common "mi" at the end of names like Tsurumi's which means "eye", so, I think of it as a very different word). And, Kurumi just wanted to be called that, it was a sudden feeling. So, those are the names. ^ v ^]
